I’m Sal, a midwife with over 25 years of lived experience, here to hold space as you honour and trust your own knowing through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and motherhood.

I support homebirth families across the Sunshine Coast.

Pregnancy, birth and postpartum are sacred thresholds. They are moments that call us to deeply listen, trust our instincts, and experience personal transformation.

Meet your Midwife, Sal

I live with my family on acreage in Yandina Creek. We homestead, grow food, and learn and interact with the rhythms of the land. This grounded way of life flows into how I practice midwifery, honouring natural cycles, nurturing women’s innate knowledge, and trusting that you already have everything you need within you.

Every woman I support teaches me something new. After supporting families for over two decades, I have witnessed the raw power of birth, and women at their most vulnerable and strongest time. My role is sharing information, guiding you to trust and believe in yourself, support and guidance, and holding the space for your own wisdom to unfold.

Based in Yandina Creek, I serve families throughout the Sunshine Coast including Coolum, Peregian Beach and Peregian Springs, Yandina, Nambour, Verrierdale, Doonan, Cooroy, Lake MacDonald, Noosa, Maroochydore, Bli Bli, Maleny, Montville, Gympie & surrounding areas.

Stories of Birth & Mentorships

A Note of Gratitude

I am so grateful for the trust and openness of everyone who has shared their journey with me. These stories remind me what a privilege it is to walk alongside women and families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

My birth with Midwife Sal was a life changing experience.

We invited Sal to our home to have our intimate first meeting and from the moment she walked up our driveway we knew she was the one. Sally’s nature was calming and protective, every meeting we felt more educated and powerful.

Finally it was time for us to enter the birth portal, my preferences and “plan” was respected and I felt heard.

Hannah & Marcus

Midwife Sal was everything I needed and beyond. She is one of the most genuine people I have ever met, pouring her whole heart and soul into her work.

During my birth, she was everything I needed. Present in exactly the right way, never too much, never too little. Her calm energy made all the difference, and simply being in her presence was deeply soothing.

I felt incredibly safe in Sal’s care, not just from a medical perspective, but on a spiritual level as well. The journey we shared was so beautiful, and it was truly bittersweet when our time together came to an end.

Jasmine

From the very beginning, Sal was approachable and made me feel so welcome. This made it easy for me to feel comfortable and embark on this journey with her.

The most valuable part of my time with Sal was how seamless and natural the whole experience felt.

Working with Sal has reaffirmed my belief in the wisdom of the body and the sacredness of the birth process. It has given me the confidence to trust even more deeply in birth itself and in my own abilities as a midwife.

Nu, Midwife Mentee

I have been very fortunate to be welcomed into the homebirth space with Sal through the student midwifery continuity of care program.

Sal has been warm and welcoming from the outset, and her positive energy is palpable. Sal’s approach to midwifery is gentle and informed by the context of the woman.

Sal models high quality care and always makes sure I am part of the team. It is a pleasure to be mentored by her.

Kiah, Student Midwife Mentee

As a mother of three who experienced peaceful and empowering home births, I felt a deep call to support other families in experiencing the profound journey of birth. I looked at many doula courses and saw that what was truly lacking was the opportunity to be with women - to walk alongside them through the whole journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Being mentored by Sal gave me the chance to witness birth firsthand and gain true experiential knowledge from an experienced and inspiring private midwife.
