Meet Sal

I am passionate about health, wellbeing and longevity. I have served women and families since 1998 in continuity of midwifery care models throughout Australia. Being able to provide individualised holistic care in partnership with women throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal time in the comfort of their home is a significant part of my work. The relationship I build with you, and your loved ones is the most important aspect of your care. For this reason I support a small number of women per month.

I can order blood tests and ultrasounds throughout your pregnancy, labour, birth and newborn period and prescribe certain medications. I consult with, and refer to  obstetricians and specialist doctors (including paediatricians for your baby) if needed, and according to the ACM guidelines of consultation and referral. I am a registered endorsed midwife with APHRA.

I love learning and acquiring new knowledge and skills to better support women. I hold a Masters degree in Primary maternity care, and am a Birth Geek! I frequently attend courses, workshops and read extensively on topics relating to midwifery, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, babies, breastfeeding…and more!

Continuity of Midwifery Care

Both the safety and quality of care for mothers and babies are improved in midwifery continuity care models. This is widely documented in the literature. I enjoy working with other health care practitioners and regularly meet with my colleagues and peers.

My role as a midwife is to support you to feel empowered, confident and nurtured when entering motherhood. It is my privilege and honour to work with families and be part of this significant and sacred part of life.

It is important you are at the centre of your care and that you feel safe and respected in your choices. My advocacy for women’s self-determination, choice and control, recognises your right of consent and refusal throughout your care.
