About Sal

I have been working professionally with women and families for over 20 years in various hospital and community settings in Australia and New Zealand. Being able to provide one on one midwifery care in partnership with women throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period is a significant part of my work, and brings me great professional satisfaction and personal joy.

I am an endorsed midwife, meaning you can receive a Medicare rebate for some of your midwifery care. I can order blood tests and ultrasounds throughout your pregnancy, labour, birth and newborn period and prescribe certain medications.

Continuity of midwifery care

Both the safety and quality of care for mothers and babies are improved in midwifery continuity care models. This is widely documented in the literature.

My role as a midwife is to support you to feel empowered, confident and nurtured when entering motherhood. It is my privilege and honour to work with families and be part of this significant and sacred part of life.

I work with other private practice midwives and registered midwives in the Sunshine Coast in both the home and hospital setting. It is important to ensure you are at the centre of your care and that you feel safe and respected in your choices. My advocacy for women’s self-determination, choice and control, recognises your right of consent and refusal throughout your care.
